Job Description

We are seeking two (2) Part-time Athletic Trainers. Start date will be after August 7th, or as soon as possible following that date. These positions will be responsible for practice coverage, practice set up and tear down, evaluation of injuries, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries, maintaining electronic records, home game day coverage, and away travel if possible. It will be an average of 29 hours a week. Hours are flexible, and can be worked around typical work hours.

Requirements

-BOC certified/ Or Texas Licensure

-First Aid/CPR Certified

-Strong interpersonal skills

-Ability to cover practice or games independently

-Ability to communicate effectively with full time staff

-Must be dependable with commitments

About West Texas A&M (WT)

WT is a Division II University located in Canyon Texas.  WT athletic training is responsible for covering 14 varsity sports. Our Athletics Program is one of the premier Division 2 programs in the Nation. WT finished second in the Learfield Director’s Cup, with 13 different programs qualifying for the NCAA postseason. There is a high level of success in the Athletics Department that is echoed in the Athletic Training Room.

The new athletic training room was completed in 2020. It has the highest quality equipment including modality machines with EMG feedback, and laser therapy. It also has a Swim Ex 600T hydrotherapy tub and Keiser Functional Trainer.  Plus all the usual equipment needed for rehab, treatment, and manual therapy techniques.
