Responsible for the design and implementation of the training program for all boys and girls sports in the athletic department.



Must have valid accreditation as an LAT

Bachelor’s degree


  1. Plan and implement a comprehensive athletic injury and illness prevention program for student-athletes.
  2. Attend practice sessions and athletic contests as assigned by the athletic director.
  3. Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, medical and paramedical personnel, coaches, and other staff.
  4. Fit injured athletes with specialized equipment and oversee its use.
  5. Prepare athletes for games and practices by conducting evaluations, using tape, wraps, splints, braces, and other protective devices as needed.
  6. Respond to emergencies and make quick, independent judgments about how to deal with injuries.
  7. Identify injuries and provide first-aid where applicable.
  8. Make the call on continued participation, further evaluation or whether to seek next level medical attention for injuries sustained during activities and games.
  9. Establish specific procedures to be carried out by a coach or student trainer in the event of a medical emergency.
  10. Make selections on student assistants.  Train and supervise your group of assistants.
  11. Set rehab schedule and protocols for injured athletes.
  12. Set open training room schedule for reporting of injuries and before/after school treatments.
  13. Organize all school related medical record keeping for student athletes.
  14. Inventory management, supplies ordering and maintenance of training modalities and supplies.
  15. Communicate with AD, Coaches and parents routinely on athlete injury status.
  16. Other duties as assigned.
