Job Title: Asst Athletic Trainer (3rd Position) – Temple ISD Reports To: Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Director

Primary Purpose:

Temple ISD is seeking a full-time third high school Athletic Trainer that will cooperatively work with other staff Athletic Trainers on injury treatments, athletic periods, and game coverage each week for high school and middle school student-athletes. The Athletic Trainer will work under the supervision of the head AT to prevent, recognize, assess, manage, treat, and recondition athletic injuries and illnesses. They will coordinate injury care and game schedules for high school and middle school events with the other staff AthleticTrainers. ReportstoAD,AssistantAD,HeadAthleticTrainer,CampusPrincipal.


Bachelor’s Degree or higher from a recognized, accredited college or university Licensed as an Athletic Trainer by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation National Athletic Trainers Association BOC certification preferred not required
Valid Texas teaching certificate preferred or willing to obtain certification
Sports Medicine Course Instructor Certified
Current Professional Rescuer CPR and AED certification
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills


Assist in the planning and implementation of a comprehensive athletic injury and illness prevention program for student athletes.
Attend practice sessions & athletic contests as assigned by AD, Assistant AD and Head Athletic Trainer. Establish and maintain effective communication with students, parents, medical and paramedical personnel, coaches, and other staff.

Prepare athletes for games and practices by conducting evaluations and using tape, wraps, splints, braces, & other protective devices as needed.
Compile, maintain, and file all physical and computerized reports, records, and other documents including doctor, accident, and treatment records as required.

Day to day athletic training room duties
Teach Sports Medicine I class
Assist with recruitment and supervision of athletic training student aides
Care for all injuries that athletes of the school district sustain while participating in a designated UIL athletic program, referral to team physician or family doctor as necessary and informing parents immediately of any injury concern.
Stay current on trends, methods and techniques of athletic medicine to provide best possible care for student-athletes.

Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:

Work outside- Heat, Cold, Wind, Rain Frequent, Prolonged and Irregular hours

Pay Grade: TISD Scale + Stipend
