Title:  Assistant Athletic Trainer
Contract-187 days, plus stipend
 
Primary job is the care and prevention of athletic injuries.  You will be responsible for planning individual treatment plans for injured athletes. Work under the direction of our team Dr, and Head Athletic  Trainer  to help prevent, recognize, assess, manage and treat athletic injuries and some illnesses.
 
QUALIFICATIONS:
 
Teacher Certification 
 
Teach sports Medicine
 
Bachelors Degree
Valid License from Texas Department of Licensing and regulation
Current CPR card, instructor card preferred but not a must have.
 
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
 
THERAPEUTIC MODALITIES AND INJURY PREVENTION
ABILITY TO PROVIDE EMERGENCY CARE TO ATHLETES
ABILITY TO HELP LEAD A STUDENT TRAINER PRGRAM
STRONG COMPUTER, ORGANIZATIONAL SKILLS, STRONG COMMUNICATION SKILLS, ABILITY TO GET ALONG WITH OTHERS
 
EXPERIENCE:
 
TEACHING EXPERIENCE WOULD BE HELPFUL
 
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITES:
  1. SOME HEAVY LIFTING AT TIMES
  2. FOLLOW TEAM DR.S ORDERS WITH INJURED ATHLETES
  3. RESOLVE PROBLEMS THAT MAY ARISE
  4. PRACTICE AND GAME COVERAGE
  5. DEVELOP REHAB PROGRAMS FOR ATHLETES
  6. DEVELOP RELATIONSHIP WITH COACHING STAFF AND MEDICAL STAFF
  7. SET THERAPEUTIC GOALS FOR SURGERY PATIENTS
  8. FIT ATHLETES WITH SPECIAL EQUIPMENT WHEN NEEDED
  9. RECORD DAILY TREATMENTS
  10. ENFORCE ETHICAL AND LEGAL PARAMETERS REGARDING THE USE OF DRUGS AND THERAPEUTIC AGENTS FOR TREATMENT AND REHABILITATION OF INJURED ATHLETES.

  1. Prolonged standing
