Nancy Vanley

Nancy C. Vanley is a graduate of the University of Texas at El Paso. She has worked for the El Paso Independent School District at Thomas Jefferson/Maxine L. Silva High School since July of 2008. She is also a sponsor of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes Huddle on her campus and Sunday School Teacher at McComb’s Baptist Church.

Bill “Hondo” Schneider

William “Hondo” Schneider graduated, of course, from Hondo High School, well as Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and Health in 1982 and a Master’s degree in Sports Medicine in 1985.

Hondo has served as athletic trainer for the San Francisco 49ers, the USFL Houston Gamblers, Howard Payne University, and Copperas Cove High School. He has been with the Midland Independent School for 17 years, first with Midland Lee High School and currently serving as a staff athletic trainer at Midland Senior High School.

He also serves on the UIL Medical Advisory Committee and is the TSATA’s UIL committee chairman as well as the liaison to the UIL.

Hondo is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association as well as the United States Golf Association, The United States Team Roping Championships, and is on the Board of Directors of the Sandhills Stockshow and Rodeo in Odessa, Texas.

His bride’s name is Marla. They have two children – a daughter Jessica, 19, a pre-med major attending Texas Tech University, and a son Brandt, 10.

Mark “Buzz” Chisum

Mark Chisum, who handles many of the sports medicine duties for football, is in his 13th year on the athletic training staff at Texas Tech. From 1991 until 1996, Chisum was the head athletic trainer at South Plains College. Chisum is a 1982 graduate of the University of Southwestern Louisiana. He completed his master’s degree in physical education at Sul Ross State in 1995. A native of Brownfield, Texas, Chisum has a varied background in athletic training. He worked in the NFL for the Houston Oilers from 1985-87 as an assistant athletic trainer. Chisum also has considerable track and field athletic training experience. In 1993, he worked with the U.S. National Junior squad and the NCAA Division II Championships and has annually worked with the NJCAA Track and Field Championships since 1984. In 1996, Chisum served as an athletic trainer at the ARCO Olympic Training Center. He also is a member of the Texas State Athletic Trainers Association (TSATA). He has been involved as an associate athletic trainer with the Justin Sports Medicine Program, which covers professional rodeo and bull riding events. Chisum is a member of the National Athletic Trainers Association and the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association. He and his wife, Diane, reside in Lubbock with their basset hound, Elvis, and two cats, Punkin and Miss Kitty.

Scott Galloway has served DeSoto Independent School District as the Head Athletic Trainer since 1999. He holds a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Health Education from Texas A&M University. . Scott is licensed by the Texas Department of Health and Certified by the National Athletic Trainers Association to practice as an Athletic Trainer. In 2003, Scott was awarded the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association James 3Doc2 Dodson New
Horizon Award, which was developed for the purpose of recognizing relatively new qualified members of District VI for their unique or immediate contributions to the SWATA or the athletic training profession. In 2008, Scott was awarded the SWATA John W. Harvey Humanitarian Award for positively impacting ethnic minority athletic trainers and/or physically active ethnic minority individuals. In 2007, Scott was selected to participate in the N.A.T.A‘s Task Force on Sickle Cell Trait with the objective to encourage Sickle Trait Testing of athletes at every level to ensure safe participation in sports. He has been a presenter for the National Athletic Trainers Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers Association, as well as regional and local meetings. Scott also presented to the Sickle Cell Foundation of Palm Beach, Florida in August 2009 and to the National Sickle Cell Disease Association of America in October 2009. In December 2010 Scott was a presenter to the NATA’s Youth Safety Alliance in Washington D.C. In 2011 Scott presented in Dallas TX for the DFW Sports Medicine Symposium as well as the Arkansas State Athletic Trainers Association Annual Meeting.

Bubba Wilson

Bubba Wilson is a 1990 graduate of Baylor University. He has held Athletic Training positions in the High School, clinical and orthopedic settings. Currently, Bubba is an Outreach Athletic Trainer for the Memorial Hermann Hospital System. Bubba is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Southwest Athletic Trainers’ Association, Texas State Athletic Trainers’ Association and The Greater Houston Athletic Trainers’ Society. He is also a Past-President of GHATS. Bubba is married to Melissa, they have one daughter and reside in the Houston area.

Josh Woodall

Josh is a State Licensed and National Certified Athletic Trainer. Currently he is the Head Athletic Trainer at Bryan High School which is in the Bryan Independent School District. He has worked in Bryan ISD since 2002, three as the assistant athletic trainer prior to becoming the Head Athletic Trainer in the fall of 2006. Josh attended Sam Houston State University where he received a degree in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Sports Medicine and a Minor in Health, he also received his Texas Teachers Certificate while a student at SHSU. Josh is married to Jamie Woodall who is also a graduate of Sam Houston State University and a athletic trainer, working in Bryan ISD.

Brian Farr, Secretary/Treasurer

Brian has been the Director of the Athletic Training Education Program since 2002. Prior to his faculty position, Brian spent three seasons as the athletic trainer for the Longhorn Men’s Basketball team. In addition to tending to the basketball team, he coordinated the athletic training student internship program, coordinated the educational inservice program, and taught for the Department of Kinesiology and Health Education (KHED).

Brian came to UT by way of Oklahoma State University where he served as Assistant Coordinator of Sports Medicine working with the Cowboy’s men’s basketball and football teams. He also served as an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in OSU’s College of Education, where he taught athletic training courses. Brian also coordinated OSU’s staff inservice educational series and assisted in the clinical education of OSU’s athletic training students.

Brian also spent one year as the head athletic trainer for the Columbus Chill, a minor league, professional ice hockey team; one season as the assistant athletic trainer with the World League of American Football’s (NFL Europe) Scottish Claymores; and served as an athletic trainer at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Lake Placid, NY.

Brian earned his bachelor of science degree in Physical Education and Exercise Science from Michigan State University in 1993. He completed a two-year graduate assistantship and his master of arts degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from The Ohio State University in 1996. Brian is a nationally certified athletic trainer (ATC), a state licensed athletic trainer (LAT), and a nationally certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS).

Terry Greenup graduated from Bel Air High School in El Paso. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees from Texas A&I University (now Texas A&M – Kingsville). He has been the Athletic Trainer for the following school districts; Sinton, Waxahachie, and Robstown. Since 1996, he has been with Beeville ISD where he is also the assistant athletic director.

 
Britney Webb

Britney Webb

Britney Webb, M.Ed. LAT, ATC has been employed since 2006 as the Clinical Site Coordinator and Senior Lecturer of Athletic Training at Texas State University-San Marcos. Her duties include teaching athletic training classes as well as overseeing the off-campus clinical site where the athletic training students participate in clinical rotations.

Webb, a magna cum laude graduate, from Tarleton State University (TSU) received her Master of Education from TSU.

As an athletic trainer Britney‘s tenure includes Abilene Christian University where she spent two years as assistant Athletic Trainer and two years as the Head Women’s Athletic Trainer. Her duties included athletic trainer for volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball, cheerleaders, and recruitment of athletic training students. Other experiences consist of Co-Head Athletic Trainer at Granbury High School in Granbury Texas for four years and contract Athletic Trainer for Baird High School, Baird Texas. Graduate Assistant Athletic Trainer at Tarleton State University for two years (1995-97) as well as Texas High School Girls All-Star Athletic Trainer (2000). She has also worked as an Athletic Trainer for Mesquite Professional Rodeo (2001-02) and the West Texas Fair and Rodeo (2005).

Britney is active in the Southwest Athletic Trainers Association (SWATA) National Athletic Trainers Association (NATA), Texas State Athletic Trainers Association (TSATA) and Tarleton State Athletic Trainers Association (TATA). She is currently the chair of the Life Balancing committee for SWATA. She has previously served as SWATA chair for Women in Athletic Training committee (WATC) and member of the NATA WATC. Britney is also an instructor for TSATA Sports Medicine I and II courses and serves as the parliamentarian and recording secretary as will for TSATA.

In 2007 and 2011 she was the recipient of the SWATA James Dodson New Horizon Athletic Training Award, and SWATA Most Distinguished Athletic Trainer Award. Britney was also recognized in 2011 for her service by being selected for Texas State University-San Marcos College of Education Presidential Award for Excellence in Service Award. She is also the Texas State University sponsor for the Sigma Alpha Epsilon, the Bowie Elementary PTO classroom representative and member of the SMHS baseball booster club. Her husband, Bryan is the head baseball coach, football offensive coordinator and assistant athletic director at San Marcos High School. They have three active children Gunner, Kannon and Kutter-Gage.
